FAMILY FACES COSTLY KAK!

A FAMILY in India is paying a heavy price after refusing to use their toilet at home and kakking in the open instead.
The village councillor of Rambhakhedi village in central India was apparently gatvol of asking villagers to use their toilets and not the bushes when relieving themselves.
The family was fined ?75 000 (about R15 500).

Another 43 families in the village have also been served notices that they face similar fines if they keep kakking in  the open.
Kunwarlal from the village council was quoted as saying: “About a month back, the family was advised to stop defecating in the open. However, they turned deaf ears to it. So, a fine of ?75,000 was yesterday imposed on the family of 10 members.”
The 10 family members were each fined for one month at the rate of ?250 per day. This is in line with a rule passed in 1999.
The frustrated head of the village council, Ramrati Bai, said: “These villagers had been warned on several occasions, but they were not ready to use the toilets at home.”
India has a long standing tradition of kakking in the open, with about 490 million people still practicing it. Other countries where it’s popular to kak outside are Pakistan, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Sudan.
