SASCO SHUTS DOWN MOPANI TVET COLLEGE!

THE South African Students Congress (SASCO) in the Mopani region shut down the Mopani TVET College in Phalaborwa in Limpopo on Wednesday.
SASCO is not happy about the decrease in student enrolment and also accused the campus of charging them fees while president Jacob Zuma announced that government would subsidize free high education for the poor and working class.

SASCO Secretary in Mopani region Rakgotsoka Afrika said they are also not happy about the denial of enrolment for students who owe the college.
He said the enrolment criteria report which is not part of the admission policies of the college are among other things they are not happy about.
Another student representative member,  Mpho Matsi said they had a long meeting with the college management since yesterday but they never reached any agreement, which led to the reason why they opted for the shutdown.
Matsi said the college wants to take 40 students per programme and while there is a lot of students who want to enrol.
He also said the students need implementation of what president Jacob Zuma promised to the nation.
