A Western Cape nurse is in trouble after she mocked a dead person.
Screenshots of a Whatsapp conversation between a nurse, employed at Mediclinic in Cape Town, Western Cape, and a friend emerged last week (7 December).
In the conversation, the woman, who is named Olwethu, is shown sending the picture of an allegedly dead person to her friend.
She then proceeds to say “Look at this old ugly person. Ndikusendela lento (I am sending you this) to give you nightmares.”
Her friend then texts her, saying: “But you know what you did to him wasn’t fair because all patients should be treated with (the) respect they need no matter how much hard time they give you. Remember they also paid lots of money to be there, to get the right treatment and they all need that from you.”
After a complaint was lodged with the clinic, MediClinic said on Twitter: “We note the allegation and have initiated an immediate investigation into the validity and source of the complaint.”
