CRIME 'IS LIKE A DISEASE HERE’

THE streets of Ngqushwa near Wesley in Eastern Cape are no longer safe to walk.
Fear has spread among residents after the brutal murder of Khanyile Malman early on Saturday.
His body was found in bushes between streets where many people walk every day.
Malman had suffered wounds to his face, jaw and neck.
Residents warned cops that should the suspect be found, they would kill him themselves.
One of Khanyile’s neighbours, Mandilakhe Dyaso, said: “Crime is like a disease in this village – it keeps growing day by day.”
Resident Anenjongo Silo said: “Municipal workers must cut down these bushes.
“We would also like to see the police patrolling our village.”
Captain Mali Govender said: “No one has been arrested yet. Anyone with information should contact their nearest police station or call CrimeStop on 08600 10111.”
