TYRES SAVED MY LIFE!

WHEN Bongani Khumalo moved to zone 24 Sebokeng three years ago, neighbours gave him some friendly advice.
“Put some old tyres on your roof,” they said.
And today he thanks the tyres and believes they saved his life.
He claimed lightning mysteriously struck on a day with clear blue skies as he was strolling leisurely into his house.
Still in shock, he  he had been sitting outside on Saturday and was going inside to watch TV.

But before he could sit down on his chair, something very strange happened.
The 34-year-old Bongani said: lightning came from nowhere and struck the house!
“Everything inside the house shook and the lights and the TV went off as I dropped on the ground,” claimed Bongani.
He said there had been no sign of rain or even clouds in the sky.
“The tyres really saved my life. Fortunately, I was alone in the house as my partner had gone away for the weekend with our child.”
Most houses in the newly established zone 24 have tyres on their roofs, and all of them for the same reason.
Bongani said at first he thought the tyres were to strengthen the roof so that it didn’t get ripped off by strong winds.
He said he now understood the real reason.
“Whether natural lightning or some sent by evil people, at the end of the day my family and I are all safe,” he said
