Suspect caught with stolen shoes

THE suspect allegedly broke into a house and thought he’d got away it!
He allegedly took a TV, laptop and Adidas sneakers.
Then, he pushed his luck by coming back to the same kasi in Birch Acres, near Kempton Park – allegedly wearing the stolen Adidas NMD R1 sneakers.
He was spotted by residents, who gave him the beating of his life!
One of the occupants of the house, Thuto Motaung, said: “We had a break-in two weeks ago at about 11am. A TV, laptop and my brother’s sneakers were stolen.
“On Tuesday, I was in the laundry room when a man told us someone was trying to break into the house.
“The suspect jumped over the palisade fence and ran away.
“As we got out of the yard we spotted him walking down Piet My Vrou Street,” said Thuto.
He said he called his brother, who wasn’t far from there.
“My brother gave chase in his car and came back with the suspect.
“Passersby stopped and started to question the suspect, while we waited for the police.
“It was during questioning that we realised he was probably the same person who had broken into our house two weeks before.
“He was even wearing the pair of shoes that were stolen from the house,” said Thuto.
Norkem Park police spokesman Captain Lesibana Molokomme confirmed the arrest and said six other suspects were also bust at the weekend.
Police conducted an operation during which liquor and second-hand goods shops were inspected.
“A pawn shop on Matumi Street in Birchleigh was issued with a R1 000 fine for operating without a licence, while a liquor outlet on Avral Street in Birchleigh North was closed down and a fine of R1 500 issued to the owner.”
