TJOVITJO PRODUCERS EXPLAIN “OUTSTANDING PAYMENTS”!

Producers of the hit TV drama series, Tjovitjo have finally come out to address the drama surrounding rumours that there are “outstanding payments” due to cast and crew members.
The show, which airs on SABC 1, has shattered all television records in South Africa, with an astonishing 5.7 million viewers tuning in for the premier episode in August.
Since then, the show has done nothing but break more and more records, subsequently propelling a new crop of black cast and crew members into the stratosphere.
So it came as a massive shook to fans and the media when news broke that the SABC was allegedly behind in paying staff members who work on this monster of a production.
It has been reported that the delay in payments was the fault of the SABC, who have previously been involved in similar scandals with other shows.
However, Puo Pha Productions, the company behind the hit TV show, has defended the SABC, saying that their cast and crew members have been made aware of what the real issue is.
We’d like to upfront correct the misinformation that the delayed-payments are as a result of the SABC, when in fact the SABC have been the most supportive stakeholder of Tjovitjo.
It has been more than outstanding and demonstrated incredible understanding to us as black independent producers.
This is a relationship we want to grow and cement.
The outstanding payment due to cast/crew/suppliers will be paid as per our communication to the affected parties, which we have been in constant communication with.
The last communication was as recent as a week ago,” the production company said in a statement to Zalebs.
Puo Pha Productions has, in the past, told the media that financing the show has been an uphill battle.
