TWO girls alleged to be 10-years-old were killed and twelve others injured, when a taxi and a car crashed on Wednesday morning in Cloverdene, Johannesburg.
The car was found parked a short distance away and the taxi was lying on its side in the middle of the road.
"Several children were found walking around on the scene while two girls were found lying approximately ten metres away from the taxi," ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said.
Two girls were found to have sustained several injuries and were declared dead on the scene.
"Unfortunately, nothing could be done for them and they were declared dead," Meiring said.
Twelve other children, that had been traveling in the taxi were assessed, the children aged between 9 and 11 were found to have sustained injuries.
The taxi driver, mother and two children from the car escaped the accident without any injury.
Cops are investigating the exact cause of the collision as it is currently not known.
