FARMERS BLAME MALEMA

Cope leader Mosiuoa Lekota (centre) led a march against farm murders
JULIUS Malema is responsible for Mzansi’s increasing farm murders.
This is according to some of the farmers who marched from the Pretoria Art Museum to the Union Buildings.
Despite the rain, hundreds of farmers joined members of the Transvaal Agricultural Union, the DA, Cope and AfriForum for the march on Saturday.
Farmer Duncan Prinsloo, whose wife died in 2008 when they were attacked on their farm in Bronkhorstspruit, blamed Malema for the farm murders in Mzansi.
Prinsloo was shot in the back, but survived and now walks with the assistance of crutches.
He said: “I want to challenge Malema today. He can finish the attackers’ job.
“Let’s see if he has the guts to do what he teaches the youngsters.”
AfriForum deputy CEO Ernst Roets said farm murders were a national crisis.
“AfriForum does not believe that lives of farmers and farm workers are more important than those of other citizens, but this community is being targeted and the attacks have an impact on the country.”
EFF secretary-general Godrich Gardee said they were not surprised by allegations that they were inciting violence against farmers.
“AfriForum has been opening cases against the EFF and we will respond to them at the right time, but they should know that they did not bring land with them from Europe,” he said.
Cope leader Mosiuoa Lekota led the marchers.
Lekota said all South African citizens should be protected.
“South Africa belongs to all who live in it, whether black or white.”
The memorandum was received by Eddie Ntsoani, a representative of Police Minister Fikile Mbalula.
